Do I need PEP (post-exposure prophylaxis)?
PEP (post-exposure prophylaxis, also called PEPSE) is a treatment that can stop HIV taking hold if you've been at risk of HIV transmission.
For PEP to work, you need to start it within 72 hours (3 days), and ideally within 24 hours.
You should also consider PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) to protect yourself in the future.
