How much does it cost?
The cost of our counselling sessions is determined by your annual income.
- If you earn below £30,000, you will be charged £30 per session.
- If you earn between £30,000 – £39,999, you will be charged £40 per session.
- If you earn between £40,000 - £49,999 per year, you will be charged £50 per session.
- If you earn above £50,000 you will be charged £60 per session.
We can provide up to 12 free sessions per person per year for people who are living with HIV and on a low income. These free sessions are paid for from our charitable funds and are available to those in genuine need. Please note: the demand for free counselling is very high, and you are likely to wait longer to see a counsellor.
Can I choose my counsellor?
Once you have filled out your application form you will be assigned a counsellor who best meets your needs.
If you have specific needs, (e.g. would like to see someone specialising in chemsex or gender issues) please make sure to tell us in your application form and we will do our best to accommodate this.
What if I don’t like my counsellor?
We will try to assign you a counsellor who best fits your needs, but if you struggle to relate, please contact us and we will try to place you with a new counsellor as soon as possible.
Will I see my counsellor at the same time every week?
Yes you will. If you need to vary times to accommodate work or childcare, please let us know and we will do our best to meet your needs.
Do you have any evening and weekend sessions available?
Yes, our last session starts at 7pm. Please note that evening slots are not available for people receiving free counselling. We are currently unable to offer counselling at the weekend.
How many sessions will I need?
Most of our clients have between 6 – 12 sessions but we can offer up to 24 sessions per year for paying clients and up to 12 sessions per year for those who are receiving counselling free of charge.
